NoelleWouldn’t’ you like to save £17,000 doing up your house? Well, you can. Anyone can. Three years ago, I did up a 3-bed, 2-bath cottage using only factory shops and created this website to show you how you can achieve the sort of savings I made.

Now, I have updated the site with four new rooms which you saw on the home page and included lots of fantastic new bargain shops selling everything from half price sofas to kitchens for £1,999 (including granite worktops!)

By showing you pictures of all the items I bought - as well as some others I'd like to have bought but didn't have room for - you'll get a really good idea of the quality and style of the factory shop they came from. So you’ll know I’m not wasting your time. You can see they’re not seconds, stained or scratched or missing a vital component.

As author of The Good Deal Directory, the annually-updated guide to factory and discount shopping in book format and online at www.gooddealdirectory.co.uk, I know more about bargain shopping than anyone in this country.

And as former Editor of Good Housekeeping magazine, I have been researching and publishing good value information for more than 20 years. I'm an expert in where you can find a good deal whether it is a new kitchen, floor tiles, garden furniture, bathroom suites, carpets, china, beds or sofas.
